Nancy Wilhelms is a recognized advisor to CEOs, leaders in non-profit organizations, arts and cultural institutions, education, technology, health and medical and social and community enterprises. Following a 25-year career in business, industry and arts, in 2013, she focused her attention on non-profit leadership.
Nancy served most recently as Executive Director of Anderson Ranch Arts Center, where she raised the profile and sustainability of the 52-year old organization, now seen as an international leader and venue in the contemporary art world. During her tenure there, the organization’s operating budget increased by 34% to $5.5M, the endowment grew by 27% and total enrollment grew 22% to capacity. Nancy oversaw creation and implementation of a Long Range Plan that framed the organization’s growth and success, and steered the organization to stability and prominence.
Nancy was Founder and President of WestGroup Marketing Communications, Inc. for 29 years serving Fortune 500 and technology companies with global communications services. She served as a consultant to the President of the University of Colorado. Prior to founding WestGroup Marketing, Nancy was Press Secretary for Governor Robert List of Nevada. She worked previously in corporate marketing and advertising and was Program Director for Milwaukee Summerfest, today the largest music festival in the world.
Nancy is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America. She has presented at their national conference and at the national conference of the Alliance of Artists Communities. An avid photographer, her work has been published in New York Times, Cowboys & Indians and Ralph Lauren Magazine.
Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree at University of Colorado, where she was named to Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Nancy is the author of the upcoming book Mentor in a Minute™ for women at work.
